Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Our driver will pick you up from Nairobi at 0600 Hrs and drive you to Amboseli National Park through the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. You will stop at Emali for a brief bathroom break and proceed to the Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, check in and have lunch with a brief relaxation. Late in the afternoon, head for game viewing till sunset. Return for dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge/Similar https://www.sopalodges.com/amboseli-sopa-lodge/the-lodge
Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds. Arid looking, it has historically supported both game and the Maasai that kept their herds of cattle here. It is thanks to the waters that run off Africa’s greatest mountain that the apparently dry Amboseli, Kenya’s first game sanctuary is able to support its wildlife. Mount Kilimanjaro broods high over Amboseli, generally cloaked by clouds but appearing in all its snow-shrouded magnificence from time to time. The mountain now provides water for the park, wonderful views and of course the most glorious background for animal photography.

Maasai Mara tour is rich with wildlife and has an interesting land topography also rich with culture from the Maasai tribe which has lived in this area for more than a century. It is one of the most visited national parks because people can experience the famous wildebeest migration, which is a ‘world wonder’. The excitement is the hurdles they face along the way. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, and jackals prey on them over land and as they cross the Mara river, crocodiles lie in wait. There is plenty of action at every turn. People come from far and wide to witness this spectacle. The national park has amazing grasslands and the Siria escarpment, which is a beautiful plateau. The Maasai Mara also has the big cats among other wild animals.
Optional visit to a Maasai village (extra USD 20 per person) and learn about the Maasai Culture. An early balloon safari can also be organized at an extra cost after which you proceed with the normal program.
