Samburu National Reserve, a haven of natural beauty nestled in the heart of Kenya, is renowned for its diverse wildlife and unique landscapes. This reserve is home to rare species adapted to the arid conditions, such as the Grevy’s zebra and the reticulated giraffe, known as the ‘Samburu Special Five’. Visitors can explore the Ewaso Ng’iro riverbanks, where large herds of elephants gather and the elusive leopard might be spotted lounging on a tree branch. With over 350 species of birds, Samburu is also a paradise for birdwatchers. The reserve’s rich history includes the story of Elsa the lioness, which inspired the book and movie ‘Born Free’.
