This is a busy day! After a hearty early morning breakfast, armed with our picnic lunch, embark on a thrilling game drive through the heart of the Masai Mara, renowned for its vast herds of wildebeest and zebras. The morning light is ideal for spotting wildlife as they become active, and you may have the opportunity to witness the iconic Sunrise while in the Park.
As you explore the diverse landscapes of the park, keep your eyes peeled for the “Big Five” and a variety of other wildlife, including cheetahs, hyenas, and giraffes. At around Midday Enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch amidst the stunning savanna, surrounded by the sounds of nature. After Lunch Continue your wildlife adventure, possibly witnessing the dramatic Mara River crossings (seasonal- happens between July-September). Return to your camp/lodge for another memorable dinner and share stories of your incredible day with fellow travelers. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your camp/lodge.
After breakfast, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai people with a visit to a traditional Maasai village. This is an optional activity costing $10–$20 per person, paid directly at the village. This unique experience offers a glimpse into their authentic way of life, where you will witness their vibrant traditions, intricate beadwork, and harmonious coexistence with nature.
You will have the opportunity to interact with the friendly Maasai people, learn about their customs and beliefs, and even participate in traditional dances and songs. It is a truly unforgettable cultural encounter that will leave a lasting impression on both you and the host community.
Check out at around 9:00 AM and drive to Nakuru via Naivasha. You will have lunch en route, with an
optional boat ride safari on Lake Naivasha available at approximately $20 per person extra. Please inform your guide in advance if you are interested in taking the boat ride. Otherwise, proceed to Nakuru, drop off at your hotel or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Proceed for an early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos, white pelicans, ibis, egrets, and marabou storks, alongside wildlife such as the rare black rhino and Rothschild’s giraffe. Enjoy the scenic views of the park from Baboon Cliff, which offers a great vantage point overlooking the surrounding area.
At around 11:00 AM, depart Nakuru with a lunch stop en route and continue your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at the central drop-off point in Nairobi CBD.
